Monday 6th October 2025.

Wow, what a day! Our adventure started with a super fun coach journey, full of giggles, games, and lots of excited chatter. When we arrived at West Bay, we ran straight to the park and had an amazing time playing together in the sunshine.

After our park adventures, we headed to the farm and quickly settled into farm life. The children are loving every minute—especially getting to meet all the animals! The baby ducks are a big hit, waddling around and stealing everyone’s hearts.

It’s been a brilliant start to our residential, full of laughter, new experiences, and lots of happy faces. We can’t wait to see what adventures tomorrow will bring!

Tuesday 7th October.

Morning cuddles & farm chores!

The farm woke up to giggles and cuddles today — little ones tumbling out of bed, ready to start their morning jobs. 🐓💛

Buckets in hand, they’re off to feed the animals, collect the eggs, and greet the day with muddy boots and big smiles. There’s no better way to start the morning than with sunshine, laughter, and a little farm magic. 🌾✨

Adventure Day at Roadford Lake!

What an incredible day we’ve had at Roadford Lake! The children threw themselves into every activity with energy, enthusiasm, and huge smiles from start to finish.

We began the day by meeting our friendly instructors, who helped everyone get kitted up and ready for action. Soon, we were out on the water, learning how to paddle, steer, and work together as a team. Whether in canoes, kayaks, or sail boats, the children showed fantastic teamwork and confidence—some even managed to stay (mostly!) dry!

After our time on the lake, we returned to the farm and spent more time with the animals.

Today it was wonderful to see so many smiles, cheers, and proud faces as everyone tried new things and discovered what they could achieve.

Day 3 of our residential was another action-packed adventure! Today, we travelled back in time with a fascinating visit to Morwellham Quay, where the children experienced what life was like during the Victorian era.

The day began with a ride deep into the mine, where we discovered how copper was once extracted by hand in dark, damp tunnels. The children listened intently as our guide explained the tough and dangerous conditions faced by miners — it really brought their history lessons to life!

Afterwards, the group had great fun dressing up as Victorian child labourers. There were plenty of smiles (and a few giggles!) as everyone tried on the costumes and took part in practical activities, from rope making to washing clothes the old-fashioned way. The children showed fantastic curiosity, asking thoughtful questions and showing real empathy for how difficult life must have been for children their age at that time.

Later in the afternoon, we headed out to Lydford Gorge for a scenic walk. The views were stunning, and the sound of rushing water from the gorge created a peaceful contrast to the busy morning. The children showed wonderful teamwork and resilience as we navigated the winding paths — and there were plenty of photo opportunities along the way!

By the time we returned to our accommodation, everyone was ready for a hearty dinner and some well-deserved rest. It’s been another brilliant day filled with learning, laughter, and memories we’ll treasure.

We’re looking forward to another exciting day tomorrow!

🐠 Day 4 – A Splashing Good Time at the Aquarium & A Final Dance to Remember! 💃🕺

Today has been an unforgettable day filled with discovery, wonder, and a whole lot of dancing!

This morning, the children set off for a fantastic trip to The National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth, and from the moment we arrived, they were completely captivated. From graceful stingrays to curious clownfish, the children explored every zone with wide eyes and endless questions. The Atlantic Ocean tank was a particular favourite — the sheer size of it left everyone speechless!

Our young marine biologists loved learning about the different habitats, conservation efforts, and of course, spotting some of the ocean’s most amazing creatures. Whether it was walking through the immersive ocean tunnels or standing face-to-face with sharks (behind very thick glass, of course!), there were gasps and smiles all around.

After a fun-packed day under the sea, we headed back for a quick rest before changing into our dancing shoes for the much-anticipated Barn Dance to celebrate the end of our residential week.

The evening was filled with laughter, spinning, and some truly impressive dance moves! With live music and enthusiastic calling, everyone got stuck in — even those who were a little unsure at first were soon up and joining in the fun. It was a brilliant way to round off a week full of adventure, teamwork, and new experiences.

As the music faded and the final bows were taken, there was a real sense of pride in the air. The children have come such a long way this week — building confidence, friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime.

Tomorrow we pack up and head home, but tonight we’ll rest tired feet and happy hearts.

Until then!
